Frédéric Matonti is a French Professor of Ophthalmology and Universités–Praticien Hospitalier based in Marseille, currently practicing at the Centre Paradis Monticelli, where he combines advanced clinical care, surgery, teaching, and research in vision sciences. Trained through the full spectrum of medical, biological, and neuroscientific education, he holds dual doctorates in medicine and neurosciences, along with an Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches, reflecting his strong commitment to translational and academic leadership. Qing Ye, MD, is a Chief Physician and Deputy Director in the Department of Digestive and Hepatology at Tianjin Third Central Hospital, where he has devoted nearly two decades to the diagnosis and management of chronic liver diseases and their complications. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Shandong Medical University, followed by a master’s degree and an MD from Tianjin Medical University, and further broadened his academic vision as a visiting scholar at Stanford University. His clinical and research interests span chronic hepatitis B, alcoholic and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, cirrhosis, ascites, portal hypertension, esophageal and gastric variceal bleeding, and liver failure. Dr. Ye has made significant contributions to understanding metabolic abnormalities in liver disease, gaps in hepatitis B care, and the global burden of lean NAFLD, with first-author publications in leading journals such as Frontiers in Immunology, Frontiers in Endocrinology, Journal of Hepatology, HepatoBiliary Surgery and Nutrition, and The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology.
